WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University standout senior Silva Avakian has been voted as the KCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced today (Apr. 6). It's the second weekly honor of the season for Avakian and eighth overall for her career.  All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Athletic Solutions. 

Avakian, the No. 11-ranked singles player in the ITA, emerged victorious in two singles and doubles matches from the No. 1 position to lead the Falcons to a pair of team victories at Bethany College and vs. Evangel University this past week.

The Pasadena, Calif. native is now 14-1 overall and remains undefeated in KCAC singles matches this season.

Avakian and the Falcons are celebrating Senior Day at home today vs. McPherson College at 3 pm at the Riverside Tennis Center.
