Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WICHITA, Kan. -- The Friends University Falcons took both games today (Mar. 7) at their home invitational, first defeating the Waldorf University Warriors 11-1 and then staging a furious rally in the second tilt of the day to defeat the Doane University Tigers 15-13 at the Two Rivers Youth Complex.

In the first game victory, Friends collected 11 hits and drew six walks, capitalizing on three Waldorf errors to seal the win in five innings.

The Falcons secured a commanding lead in the second inning, capitalizing on the Warriors' defensive miscues. Madison Nightingale started with a single and later stole second, setting up a rally that saw Tamara Lozoya walk. Izzy Jones and Cadence Magana followed with singles, with Magana's hit driving in two runs. An error allowed Ezra Arredondo to reach first and another run to score, extending the lead to 5-0 by the inning's end.

The momentum continued in the third inning as the Falcons added six more runs. Peyton Ganger and Lozoya both singled, and Jones followed with another hit to load the bases. Magana reached on an error, resulting in a run, while Arredondo's walk brought in another. Regan Witt's single drove in two more, effectively sealing the game's outcome by the run rule.

Waldorf managed their run in the third on Gabby Bierly's RBI double.

Jones recorded three runs and three hits, fueling the Falcons offensive performance. Magana drove in three runs and added two hits in the win over Waldorf. Witt collected three RBIs and one hit, reinforcing the lineup's production.

Jenna Ormiston pitched a complete game, allowing just one earned run over five innings.

Kylie Bates went 2-2 for the Warriors.

In the win over Doane, the Falcons came back from eight runs down early to pull out the victory.

The Tigers jumped to an early lead with a four-run first inning, highlighted by doubles from Faith McDonald and Ciara Hudson.

Down 10-2, the Falcons responded with a significant rally in the third inning, scoring seven runs in the frame to come within one run. Raeleen Hernandez and Magana each had two-run doubles to fuel the big inning.

In the fourth inning, the Falcons seized control and scored five more runs to lead 14-11. Nightingale and Jones each had RBI singles, and the speed on the bases was evident as Tamara Lozoya and Nightingale executed a double steal, with the latter scoring on an error. Despite Doane's late efforts, including a two-run homer by Evelyn Iniguez in the sixth, Friends held on to secure their second victory of the day.

Jones recorded another strong performance with three runs, three hits, and three RBIs, including two doubles. Magana was again effective at the plate with two hits and three RBIs, also adding a double to her stats. Cambell Riordan added to the team's scoring with three RBIs, while Hernandez delivered two hits and drove in three runs.

McDonald had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in two runs. Hudson had three stolen bases and two RBIs and Addison Parsons recorded three hits, including a double, and one RBI for the Tigers.

The Falcons will now turnaround and host Benedictine College for a pair of games tomorrow (Mar. 8) at noon.
