Chickasha, Okla. – The fifth-seeded Friends University Falcons saw their 2026 season come to a close with a 10-1 loss to the No. 15-ranked and second-seeded LSU-Alexandria Generals at the NAIA Opening Round in Chickasha, Okla.
The Generals jumped on top quickly with a run in the bottom of the first and then tacked on two more in the second, highlighted by Lainee Bailey's first of two homers on the day.
Bailey then broke things open with her second home run, a two-run shot that capped a four-run third inning that made it 7-0.
After the Falcons strung together three straight hits and got on the board on an RBI groundout by Regan Witt in the fourth, a two-run homer by Kilee Moody finished a three-run bottom of the fourth and allowed the Generals to end the game on the run rule after five innings.
Cambell Riordan had a double for one of the Falcons three hits on the day.
Sophia Romero had a team-high three hits for LSU-Alexandria, with Moody (four) and Bailey (three) combining to drive in three runs. Rylee Guillot started and pitched four innings with one run allowed and Samantha Hayes pitched a scoreless fifth to close out the win for the Generals, who advance to play an elimination game vs. fourth-seeded Morningside University later tonight at 6 pm.
The Falcons wrap up the season at 31-22 overall, with this latest NAIA Opening Round appearance the program's fifth in the last eight years under head coach Suzanne Unruh.
