WICHITA, Kan. – A trio of Friends University Softball Falcons have received the 2026 Academic All-District award, presented by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced today (May 26).
The honorees receiving this award for the Falcons are Tamara Lozoya, Madison Nightingale and Jenna Ormiston.
To be nominated for this award, the student-athlete must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade-point-average, be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing, and participate in 90 % of the team's games OR start a minimum 66 percent of the team's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must make at least 17 appearances or pitch 35 innings.
Those with the highest athletic credentials move on to the Academic All-America ballot, set to be announced on June 16.
