WICHITA, Kan. – In two games that was originally scheduled to be home for the (RV) Friends University Falcons, then away and then finally home again, the Falcons swept past the Hesston College Larks by scores of 24-2 and 10-2.

Madison Nightengale got the scoring barrage started in the opener by reaching second on an error, stealing third and then scoring the first of seven first inning runs on a wild pitch.

Nightengale then capped the inning with a two-run double before two-run homeruns from Keara Cunningham and Chloe Enslinger and a two-run triple by Izzy Jones powered a 13-run explosion in the second frame.

Jones finished with four RBI in the opening game victory for the Falcons, with Nightengale, Cunningham, Enslinger and Teagan Moreno each driving in three runs. Gabrielle Gaither also had a two-run double in the bottom of the fourth to cap the scoring for Friends.

Jenna Ormiston started the first game and went three innings with one run allowed and two strikeouts, followed by Ainsley McGill with one run allowed and one strikeout over two frames. '

An RBI double by Enslinger and a sacrifice fly from Jones helped the Falcons take a 3-0 lead in the second inning of the nightcap.

After an RBI single by Abigail Cox got the Larks on the board in the fourth, Tamara Lozoya launched a two-run homer in the bottom half of the inning to give the Falcons more breathing room.

The Falcons then ended the second game on another run rule in the bottom of the fifth behind RBI singles from Moreno and Jones, a sacrifice fly by Nightengale and a two-out RBI double by Cadence Magana that closed out the victory.

Enslinger had three hits to fuel the Falcon offense in the second game, with Jones recording three RBIs and Lozoya and Magana each driving in a pair of runs. Nightengale went 2-of-3 from the top of the lineup for Friends, who are now 4-2 on the season.

Ezra Arredondo pitched a five-inning complete game and struck out two with two runs allowed.

The Falcons will next be at MidAmerica Nazarene University on Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 18) for two games starting at 2 pm in Olathe, Kan.
