Le Mars, Iowa – The No. 10-ranked Friends University Falcons finished 10th within a stacked competition at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational in Le Mars, Iowa.
Of the 14 teams competing, 10 were ranked in the NAIA Preseason Coaches' Top 25 and one received votes.
No. 14-ranked Marian (Ind.) won the tourney title at -26, three strokes ahead of second-place and No. 5-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene University.
No. 2-ranked Oklahoma City University (-18) was third, followed by No. 8-ranked Texas Wesleyan University (-17) and seventh-ranked OUAZ (-16) within the top five.
Bernhard Koster (-1) was the highest finishing Falcon in a tie for 23rd, followed by Gabriele Romani (E) tied for 28th. Grant Waggoner (+3) came in tied for 39th, while Laken Matthews (+5) was tied for 44th. Jack Cubitt (+8) rounded out the Falcon competitors in a tie for 58th.
The Men's Golf Falcons will next compete at the Evangel Fall Invitational on Oct. 6-7 in Joplin, Mo.
