Newton, Kan. – Jenson Boyce came in second overall to fuel the No. 10-ranked Friends University Falcons to a third-place team finish at yesterday's (Apr. 7) Bethany College Classic at the Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kan.
The Falcons shot +31 to finish just three strokes behind second-place Iowa Western CC, with Weatherford winning with a team score of -2.
Boyce shot -2 to come in second for the Falcons, with Trinton Nobles (+6) finishing tied for 10th.
Laken Matthews (+15) finished 24th, followed closely by Gabriele Romani (+16) in a tie for 25th. Ben Ackley (+24) was tied for 40th to round out the Falcon group.
The Friends B team also competed at the Bethany College Classic and finished seventh, led by Jack Cubitt (+5) in a tie for eighth place. Maverick Guinn (+18) was 30th and Grant Waggoner (+20) came in 31st, while Cameron Wahl (+24) finished tied for 40th. Colten Hoover also participated for the Friends B squad.
The Falcons will now gear up for the KCAC Championship in less than two weeks, set for Apr. 20-22 at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kan.
