WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Falcons have been picked to finish second in the KCAC Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' poll, the conference office announced today (Aug. 21).
The Falcons collected two first-place votes behind defending regular season champion Oklahoma Wesleyan University, who garnered 12 first-place tallies to come out on top of the survey.
Kansas Wesleyan University was third, followed by Avila University and York University within the top five.
Under head coach Brent Hobson, the Falcons finished fourth in the KCAC last season before storming through the KCAC tournament for their first conference tourney title of the modern era that resulted in the program's fourth NAIA National Tournament appearance in the past six years. The Falcons' run through the postseason tourney included advancing on penalty kicks over top-seeded OKWU in the semifinal round.
Heading into this season, the Falcons will welcome back All-KCAC honorable-mention performers Pilar Flores and Faith Smith among other key veterans for the 2025 campaign.
The Falcons are set to begin the season tonight with a high-octane matchup at NCAA D-I member Oral Roberts University at 5 pm in Tulsa, Okla.
