Box Score MCPHERSON, Kan. — The Friends University Falcons dominated the Central Christian College Tigers tonight (Aug. 30) with a 5-0 victory on the road, scoring two goals in the first half and adding three more in the second half.
Friends took control early in the first half with a goal by
Alexa Fonseca in the 11th minute assisted by
Anahi Ibarra-Arevalo. Continuing their momentum through the first half, Elisa Murrieta found the back of the net in the 20th minute to extend the lead to 2-0.
Kieley Aranda led a strong offensive second half for the Falcons with two goals, the first in the 58th minute assisted by Ibarra-Arevalo, before adding another at the 64th minute extending the Falcons lead to 4-0.
The team maintained their offensive momentum with
Avery Cantwell scoring in the 78th minute, assisted by
Mackenzie Cunningham, bringing the second half's tally to three goals, and a strong 5-0 lead for the Falcons.
The defense remained solid, with
Morgan Wilkinson making a key save in the 74th minute to preserve the shutout, and the Falcons went on to seal a 5-0 victory over the Central Christian Tigers.
Next up for the Falcons will be their home-opener next Thursday (Sept. 4) at 7:00 pm vs. Texas Wesleyan University at Adair-Austin Stadium.
