WICHITA, Kan. – A trio of Friends University Tennis Falcons have received recognition on the Academic All-District team, presented by the College Sports Communicators, the organization has announced.
For the Falcons it was Cristobal Fuentes and Enric Galan for the men and Molly Bender on the women's side.
To be nominated for this award, the student-athlete must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade-point-average, be at least a sophomore in both academic and athletic standing and participate in 70 percent of an institution's days of competition (regional competition such as ITAs and non-team scored events do not count).
Those with the highest athletic credentials move on to the Academic All-America ballot, set to be announced on June 3 for the women and June 4 for the men.
