Baldwin City, Kan. – The Friends University Men's Tennis Falcons slipped by the Baker University Wildcats 4-3 in the fall season opener Saturday (Sept. 13) in Baldwin City, Kan.
The Falcons were victorious in the top three singles matches behind #1 Cristobal Fuentes (6-3, 6-3), #2 Gabriel Gomes (6-0, 6-4) and #3 Rodrigo Torres (6-3, 1-6, 7-6).
In doubles, the Falcons went 1-2, with the team of Gomes/Fuentes notching the only win at 6-2.
The match was decided in the #6 singles slot and Gabriel Gonzalez pulled it out for Friends 6-2, 6-2.
The Falcons will next compete in the KCAC Fall Tourney this weekend (Sept. 19-20) in Lindsborg, Kan.
