WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Women's Falcon track & field squad has climbed 19 spots into the 20th position of the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NAIA rankings, the organization released yesterday (Apr. 8).
The Falcons are coming off a hugely successful home track meet this past weekend at Adair-Austin Stadium.
Highlighting the event was Aaliyah Ramirez setting a new school record with an NAIA B standard mark in the Pole Vault (3.65m) and Anya Walton hitting an NAIA B Standard in the Triple Jump (11.81m).
The 4 X 100 Relay is also a key reason for the Falcons climb up the national rankings this week, as the team of Valeria Crespo, Rhianna Hill, Haidyn Thompson and Tiyna Ridge recorded an NAIA B standard time of 46.85 to finish in the top three, trailing only Wichita State and Highland CC.
And that was just day one for the Falcons, the second day featured Abby Green achieving a B standard mark in the Hammer Throw (51.49m).
In the Falcons' first outdoor meet of 2025, Tiyna Ridge produced an NAIA A Standard with a school run of 11.68 in the 100 Meter run.
The Falcons will next compete this weekend (Apr. 11-12) at the KT Woodman Classic at Wichita State University.
