WICHITA, Kan. – Moving up the Friends University Spring Invitational to today (Apr. 2) due to rain in Saturday's forecast only hastened the Falcons' charge up the record book and the national standards.
Highlighting day one's events from Adair-Austin Stadium was Aaliyah Ramirez now owning the school's indoor and outdoor record in the Women's Pole Vault with a jump of 3.65m to hit the NAIA B Standard.
Other standards achieved included Anya Walton nailing an NAIA B Standard in the Women's Triple Jump at 11.81m. Walton sat in second place behind Wichita State's Grace Lange.
In the Women's 4 X 100 relay, the team of Valeria Crespo, Rhianna Hill, Haidyn Thompson and Tiyna Ridge recorded an NAIA B standard with a time of 46.85 to finish in the top three, trailing only Wichita State and Highland CC.
That wasn't the only relay triumph, as Fien Molenberg, Naomi Vagher, Gema del Valle and JaNiya Glass finished on top in the Women's 4 X 400 relay (4:02.19).
Damon Scott (14.36m) set a PR and won the Men's Triple Jump, followed by Mikkel Tarver (14.25m) in the second spot.
Leshaon Davis (14.66m) also posted a top three finish in the Men's Shot Put for Friends.
Tomorrow's action will begin at 10 am with the Men's and Women's Hammer Throw.
