Leavenworth, Kan. - Friends kicked off the doubleheader with a solid 5-2 win behind another dominant performance from Riley Wertz, who went the distance with a 7-inning complete game. Wertz struck out 10 while allowing just 2 runs on 7 hits.

The Falcons struck early, plating two runs in the second inning and adding key insurance late with a three-run sixth. Jayden Estabrook sparked the offense with an RBI double, while Becca Dunn, Alex Vick, and Tamara Lozoya each added RBIs to extend the lead.

Elena Montoya continued her consistency at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run scored, and Izzy Jones added two hits in the win.

Game two followed a similar jaunt, as Friends once again leaned on strong pitching and timely hitting to complete the sweep. Kierstan Weitze went the distance for the Falcons, throwing 7 innings with 6 strikeouts while allowing only 2 earned runs on 6 hits.

Offensively, the Falcons racked up 11 hits. Becca Dunn delivered the big swing of the game, launching a home run and driving in three. Alex Vick also homered and drove in two runs, while Jayden Estabrook and Elena Montoya each added doubles.

Friends never trailed in the game, steadily building their lead and shutting down every comeback attempt by Saint Mary.

The Falcons will next face Tabor College as they continue deep into KCAC play. Friends is now 23-9 in overall, and 11-3 in conference play.
