WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University junior Bernhard Koster has been selected as the KCAC Men's Golfer of the Week for the second time this season and third time of his career, the conference office announced today (Sept. 28). The Falcons have now won all three KCAC weekly Men's Golf awards of 2026-27, with Jenson Boyce also capturing the honor last Monday (Sept. 22)
All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Athletic Solutions.
Also the NAIA Men's Golfer of the Week earlier this year (Sept. 9), Koster came in tied for fifth individually at -9 to lead the No. 2-ranked Falcons to a solid top three team finish in a stacked Northwest Iowa National Invitational that featured eight of the 14 teams ranked within the NAIA Men's Golf Top 25 rating.
A Pretoria, South Africa native, Koster was five under through the first two rounds before posting a four under par showing in the final round that included four birdies on holes 5-9.
"Bernhard had a really solid week in Iowa!" said Friends men's golf head coach Tom McCurdy. "His mental game and ability to adapt to the conditions of the course were on point. He has the game to compete anywhere so I was really happy to see him play well in such a strong field. He's setting the table for a really great year!"
Koster and the Falcons are next in action on Oct. 12-13 at the Evangel Fall Invitational at the Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course in Springfield, Mo.
