WICHITA, Kan. – The No. 2-ranked Friends University Falcons came out on top of their Crestview Fall Invite this week at the Crestview Country Club in Wichita.

The Falcons finished well ahead of the field, posting a five over par result that was 22 strokes better than second place MidAmerica Nazarene.

In third was the Falcons' own B team at +32, followed by Baker and Garden City CC (+51) in a tie for fourth.

Jenson Boyce won the individual title for the Falcons with an impressive five under par showing, with the Falcons' Dawson Branstetter (-1) right behind in second place.

Daniel Mena (+8) was tied for seventh, followed by Laken Matthews (+10) tied for the 13th spot and Bernhard Koster (+12) tying for 20th.

Jaydon Carruthers (+7) bolstered the Falcon B team's third place result with a sixth-place individual finish.

Brody Fox and Joe Binger tied for 13th with Matthews at +10 and Cameron Wahl was 12 over par to come in tied for 20th with Koster. Sebastian Martinez (+17) came in tied for 25th for the Falcon B squad.

Maverick Guinn and Colten Hoover also competed as individuals for the Falcons.

"This was a fantastic day for Falcon golf!" said Friends men's golf head coach Tom McCurdy. "Having both teams win at home was a great result and a testament to the direction both programs are moving.
We had some solid play throughout the lineups of both our A and B teams in the men's tournament. Jenson and Dawson battled it out for the top spot this week and I know that it won't take much for other guys to be in that position as well. Jenson finishing with an eagle on his last hole displayed immense focus and grit! He put the hammer down!
The 36 hole day was windy and it was a real challenge for everybody in the field. Competing in conditions like that exposes weaknesses and presents opportunities to learn things on the course and about yourself that is very hard to replicate in practice. We stayed composed and battled all the way.
Winning this event gives us some momentum heading into our next event in Iowa next week, which has a loaded field! That will be a great test."

Next up for the Men's Golf Falcons will be the Northwest Invitational starting next Monday (Sept. 21) in Le Mars, Iowa.
