WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University pitcher Jenna Ormiston has been named the KCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced today (Apr. 14). All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Athletic Solutions.
Ormiston pitched a complete game with six innings in a tough loss at Bethel on Tuesday (Apr. 7) before delivering another complete game of seven innings and five strikeouts in a home win over Kansas Wesleyan last Thursday (Apr. 9).
A native of Liberal, Kan., Ormiston is fifth in the KCAC in wins (11) and has struck out 64 batters with a 3.34 ERA this season.
The Falcons are currently 22-17 overall and in fifth place in the KCAC with a 12-8 conference record.
"Jenna has gotten better each time she steps on the mound during conference play," said Friends softball head coach Suzanne Unruh. "I am so proud of her and the way she has stepped up this spring for us!"
Ormiston and the Falcons will next be at Southwestern College tomorrow (Apr. 15) starting at 3 pm in Winfield, Kan.
