WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior Silva Avakian has been named the KCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced today (Mar. 9). All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Athletic Solutions. 

Avakian was dominant in the Falcons' 4-3 win over John Brown University on Saturday (Mar. 7), winning 6-1 6-0 and then teaming with Emma Sargeant to win 7-6 (5) in her doubles match. The Pasadena, Calif. native was victorious in both the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles position.

"Silva is in great form for the season and she is ready to make her senior year memorable," said Friends tennis head coach Alex Lee.

Avakian and the Falcons are hosting Oklahoma Wesleyan University today (Mar. 9).
