WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University's Gabriele Romani has been selected as the KCAC Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced today (Mar. 16).
Romani was spectacular in winning the individual championship and helping the Falcons win the team title at the Crestview Spring Invitational this past week.
A native of Lugano, Switzerland, Romani bested 67 other golfers and shot eight under par over the three rounds.
After shooting one over in the first round, Romani took off and shot six under in the second and then three under par in the third round to fuel the Falcons to a team score of -10 and finish 18 strokes in front of none other than their own B squad in second place.
"Gabriele has been playing really good golf," said Friends men's golf head coach Dustin Galyon. "His maturity and mental toughness was fantastic all week and he is capable of going low!"
Next up for Romani and the Falcons is The Battle on Mar. 23-24 in Laughlin, Nev.
