WICHITA, Kan. – In the first month of her first season for the (RV) Friends University Falcons, sophomore first baseman Cambell Riordan has already produced one of the finest weeks in program history and has been named the KCAC Softball Player of the Week, the conference office announced today (Feb. 23).  All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Athletic Solutions

Riordon had a truly historic week for the Falcons, batting .571 with three home runs and 20 RBIs. Riordan's output was highlighted by a single-game modern-era record nine RBIs in the Falcons' 17-3 romp of Columbia College. She also got on base at a .625 clip and slugged 1.250 in the Falcons' nine games this past week

In her first year at Friends, Riordan ranks first in the KCAC in RBIs (22), tied for first in home runs (three) and fourth in batting average (.525).

"Cambell has been a tremendous addition to our program this year!" said Friends softball head coach Suzanne Unruh. "She loves to hit and it shows. Cambell also has a lot of confidence at the plate even in pressure situations. She is definitely the spark plug in our lineup, and we look forward to seeing her shine this season."

Riordan and the Falcons will next be in action at the Top Gun Invite on Saturday (Feb. 28) with games against Doane University and William Woods University in Kansas City, Mo.
