WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Football Falcons have placed the maximum eight student-athletes on the Academic All-District list, as selected by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced today (Jan. 6).
To be nominated for this award, the student-athlete must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade-point-average, be at least a sophomore in both academic and athletic standing and participate in 90 % of the team's games OR start at least 66 % of the team's games.
Those with the highest athletic credentials move on to the Academic All-America ballot, set to be announced on Jan. 27.

The Falcons recently completed a season that will live forever in the history books. Under head coach Terry Harrison, Friends won a program record 12 games and advanced to the NAIA FCS quarterfinals for the first time in school history. The Falcons were dominant on both sides of the ball, leading the nation in scoring (54.2 ppg) and breaking their own NAIA single-season rushing record with 5,979 rushing yards. Friends also ranked third in the NAIA in points allowed per game (13.8 ppg) and tied for first in sacks (41).
