KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Following their fourth straight dominant victory to open the season, the Friends University Falcons have moved up one spot to No. 7 in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches' poll, the national office has announced.
Defending NAIA National Champion Grand View (Iowa) is still No. 1, followed by Keiser (Fla.), Benedictine (Kan.), Morningside (Iowa) and Indiana Wesleyan in the top five.
Within the KCAC, Southwestern is No. 17, while McPherson, Kansas Wesleyan and Evangel are each receiving votes.
The Falcons are the nation's leading scoring team at 64.0 ppg and have outscored the opposition by a staggering 256-36 in starting the season a perfect 4-0.
Under head coach Terry Harrison, the Falcons have excelled on both sides of the ball, leading the NAIA in rushing yards (500.0 ypg) and sacks (22).
Quarterback K'Vonte Baker is also pacing the entire NAIA with 11 rushing touchdowns on the season.
The Falcons will next host (RV) Evangel Saturday (Sept. 27) at 6 pm at Adair-Austin Stadium. Evangel suffered their first loss of the season last week 17-10 at home to McPherson College.
