KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Friends University Falcons have moved up one spot to sixth in today's new NAIA Top 25 Coaches' poll, the national office released today (Sept. 29). The sixth spot nationally represents the Falcons highest NAIA ranking on record.
Defending NAIA national champion Grand View University (Iowa) remained in the top spot after a 63-3 win over St. Ambrose (Iowa).
Joining the Falcons from the KCAC in this latest poll are No. 18-ranked Southwestern College and No. 24-ranked McPherson College, with Kansas Wesleyan University and Evangel University each receiving votes.
The Falcons have outscored the opposition 309-36, most recently pummeling (RV) Evangel 53-0 in what appeared to be their toughest test yet.
Friends is currently dominating the competition on both sides of the ball, leading the NAIA in both points scored (61.8 ppg) and points allowed (7.2 ppg).
The Falcons will next play their final cross divisional game this Saturday (Oct. 4) at Ottawa University for a 1 pm kickoff in Ottawa, Kan.
