WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University junior defender Samantha Jones is this week's top KCAC Offensive Player, the conference office announced today (Sept. 22). All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Equity Bank.

Jones impacted both ends of the Falcons' 2-1 victory over Kansas Wesleyan University on Saturday (Sept. 20), providing Friends' second goal that proved to be the game-winner in the 67th minute of the match.

Jones now has one goal to go along with one assist on the season.

"Sam has been a great addition to the team this fall," said Friends women's soccer head coach Brent Hobson. "She's stepped up into a new role but has fit in really well on and off the field. She's a tough player that can definitely help us win games."

Jones and the Falcons are 3-2-1 overall on the year and will next wrap up last Wednesday night's suspended game vs. Southwestern tonight at 6 pm.  The match is currently 0-0 with approximately 30 minutes left.
