WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior Silva Avakian has been named the KCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and the sixth time in her career, the conference office announced today (Mar. 10). All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Equity Bank.

Despite battling the flu, Avakian won both her singles and doubles matches from the No. 1 position vs. Concordia University. She was then victorious in both matches against John Brown University from the No. 1 spots, including a blazing 6-0, 6-0 win in her singles match vs. Ashley Miller.

Avakian, last season's KCAC Player of the Year, remains undefeated in singles and doubles action this season.

The Falcons are currently hosting the University of Saint Mary today in the KCAC opener at the Riverside Tennis Center.
