Box Score KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After a dominant second half performance the Friends University Falcons secured a 4-0 victory over the Avila University Eagles on Wednesday (Oct. 15).
The Falcons' offense was led by a relentless attack, recording 19 shots with 12 on target. The Falcons scored once in the first half and added three more in the second half to the put the game out of reach for the Eagles to make a comeback.
Kieley Aranda led the team in shots with four shots, two on goal, and one shot finding the back of the net for a goal,
Anahi Ibarra-Arevalo assisting on the goal. Ibarra-Arevalo scored one goal, Elisa Murrieta providing the assist on the goal.
Trinity Granger found the back of the net with her only shot on goal and
Yaretzy Tejeda also scored a goal from her three shots on goal.
The Falcons' were able to achieve the shutout with the strong performances of goalkeepers
Morgan Wilkinson who recorded four saves, and
Magnolia Tavizon who finished the game with three saves. All seven saves coming in the second half.
The Falcons will be back on the road Saturday (Oct. 18) to travel to Newton, KS to take on the Bethel College Threshers. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 11:00 AM.
