WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior Yushin Kitada has earned first-team All-KCAC honors, while the Falcons placed four additional players on the 2024 all-conference team, the conference office announced today (Nov. 6).
Jose Quiel and Caique Pereira each earned second-team selections, with Dylan Cedeno and Erik Huerta receiving honorable-mention recognition.
Kitada, along with Cedeno and Huerta, served as a spark plug to a Falcon defensive unit all season that posted two shutouts and a 1.77 goals-against-average, compared to the opposing team's 2.34 GAA.
Quiel and Pereira fueled the offensive attack for the Falcons, each producing 11 goals that ranked tied for fourth in the KCAC. Quiel also dished out four assists, while two of Pereira's 11 scores were game winners for Friends.
"I'm happy for our five all-conference players to receive this recognition," said Friends men's soccer head coach Bryan Perez. "They've been critical to the success we've had this year."
The Falcons (6-7-5, 6-4-3 KCAC) are the sixth seed in the upcoming KCAC postseason tournament and are scheduled to play at third-seeded Ottawa University (8-7-3, 7-3-3 KCAC) tonight at 7:30 pm in Ottawa, Kan.
