Ottawa, Kan. - Friends Falcons Men's Soccer traveled northeast to Ottawa to try and grab an important victory against the Braves. The Falcons brought the physicality to the Braves accumulating a total of 18 fouls with nine committed in each half. The Falcons offense stayed afloat with the Braves shooting nine shots with five of those being on net. Compared to Ottawa having 11 with eight on net.
Arturo Pombo-Palomero recorded six saves in tonight's match and has made an impact on the back end of the defense. Ottawa struck first in the 30th minute with a goal from Matias Mazieres scoring his 10th of the season. The Falcons would go into half down 1-0 against a Braves team who is undefeated in conference play.
Early fouls on Friends led to the Braves offense scoring their 2nd goal of the game. Sam Hatswell scored in the 61st minute giving Ottawa a 2-0 edge. Andrea Michael Xibilia led the Falcons with two shots on goal but ultimately the Falcons offense could not get anything past the Ottawa goaltender. The Braves would continue their undefeated streak in the KCAC. Friends Falcons (4-11-2) KCAC (4-6-2) will end their regular season and travel to McPherson to take on the Bulldogs on Saturday (Nov. 1).
