WICHITA, Kan. – The No. 15-ranked Ottawa University Braves won 36-12 over the (RV) Friends University Falcons in a women's wrestling KCAC dual this evening (Jan. 16) inside the Garvey Center.
After the Braves won the first three bouts by fall, the fans were treated to a high-level match between the Falcons' No. 4-ranked Gianna Moreno and the Braves' seventh-ranked Aileen Lester in the 136 pound bout. It was Moreno coming out on top by technical fall to put the Falcons on the board.
In a terrific matchup in the 155 pound class, Kaydence Bonewell got the best of Bailee Nelson by fall after Nelson had jumped out to an 8-6 lead.
No. 13-ranked Grace Timmons then pinned Akaiya Tinsley the 170 pound bout and Christina Page captured an 8-4 decision over Siara Arrington in the 191 pound division to finish off the night on a high note for Friends.
Next up for the Falcons is the KCAC Dual Saturday (Jan. 20) in York, Neb.
