York, Neb. - After a tough loss to a ranked Ottawa program, Friends women's wrestling traveled to Nebraska for the York Open. One last test before they compete in a big KCAC/SAC Dual Tournament in Oklahoma City in two weeks. The Falcons had four wrestlers place in this tournament in each division.
Top Performers for the Falcons:
Open Division:
110 lbs - Sophomore, Anissa Robinson took 4th place in her bracket and had a close match in her consolation championship against Keana Bush of Grand View.
Amateur Division:
103 lbs - Sophomore, Vanessa Tellez placed 4th in the York Open. Tellez went 3-2 on the day with all of her wins coming by tech fall or pinfall.
145 lbs - Freshman, Haley Sheppard went 2-2 in her bracket and placed 4th. Both of her wins would come by fall in the first period.
207 lbs - Freshman, Giana Redcorn would place 3rd in her bracket going 2-1 on the day. Redcorn dominated her consolation championship with a 10-0 tech fall victory.

Women's Wrestling will go against some familiar opponents in two weeks at the KCAC/SAC Dual Tournament. Wrestling will take place on Sunday, February 1st at 10:00 AM. The duals will be at Abe Lemons Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
