Fayetteville, Ark. – The Friends University Men's and Women's Cross Country Falcons each finished 11th at today's (Sept. 29) Chile Pepper XC Festival at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.
Elijah Zortman (28:09.7) led the Falcon Men with a 51st place finish, followed by Jose Ruiz (28:21.8) in 55th.
Next up was Rhett Davis (28:40.5) in 67th and Ian Hunter (29:02.5) in 76th. Jace Douglas (29:40.1) rounded out the Falcons' top five runners in 98th place.
UT Dallas was the overall winner in the men's race, with Southwest Baptist University coming in second.
In the women's race, it was Minot State coming out on top and Cowley CC finishing as the runner-up.
Kayli Gonzales powered the Falcons efforts with a PR of 20.54.5 to finish a team-leading 30th overall.
Antonina Jackowiak (21:22.4) was next in 42nd, with Rebekah Choriego (21.47.1) winding up 54th.
Claire Dingler (22:49.9) was 88th for the Falcon Women and Madison Moses (24:04.7) came in 112th.
The Cross Country Falcons will next compete on Oct. 21st at both the Blazing Tiger Classic in Ashland, Neb. and the Mid-States Classic Meet in Winfield, Kan.
