WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Women's Cross Country Falcons finished ninth and the Men's Falcons posted a 13th place result at the JK Gold Classic today (Sept. 6), hosted by Wichita State University.
The competitive fields featured NCAA D-I and D-II teams, with the University of Oklahoma winning on the women's side and Wichita State finishing on top in the men's race.
Lexi Patterson (22:04.5) was the top finisher in 71st for the Falcon Women, followed by Hannah Cribley (22:22.6) in 77th. Hailey Roberson (23:23.8) and Rebekah Choriego (23:25.6) were 86th and 87, respectively, with Gwendolyn Copeland (23:38.4) coming in 90th to finish in the Falcons' top five runners.
For the Falcon Men, it was Sam Wright (21:03.0) leading the way in 77th and Jace Douglas (21:15.2) was 85th. Xavi Rafart (21:45.6) finished 102nd, Alex Zortman (22:26.1) came in 118th and Preston Landman (23:00.2) wound up 130th to round out the Men's Falcons top five runners.
The Falcon cross country programs will next be in action on Oct. 11 at the DBU Old Glory Gallup in Fort Worth, Texas.
