KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On the heels of the best national finish on record in university history, the Friends University Falcons have been picked second in the 2026-27 NAIA Preseason Men's Golf Coaches' Top 25, the national office has announced.
Keiser (Fla.) secured the top spot, with Dalton State (Ga.), Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) following Friends in the third and fourth spots, respectively. Reinhardt (Ga.) and Webber International (Fla.) were in a tie for fifth place. Keiser got 13 first place votes and the Falcons garnered four first place nods. Reinhardt received the lone remaining first place tally.
Last season, the Falcons produced a historic runner-up showing at the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship, battling back from 17 strokes down in the third round and 11 back in the final round to finish just two strokes shy of National Champion Oklahoma City University.
Now under the direction of new head coach Tom McCurdy, the Falcons lose KCAC Player of the Year Trinton Nobles but are set to return a pair of All-KCAC performers in Bernhard Koster and Laken Matthews along with Jenson Boyce within their regular top five from last season.
The Falcons will open the 2026-27 season on Aug. 31 at the Mid-South Classic in Newton, Kan. before hosting their Crestview Fall Invite on Sept. 14-15 in Wichita.
