Still Cheering: Snodgrass discusses new behind the scenes role for Friends Athletics

I always say that the coaches at Friends University are the best recruiters.

They do a phenomenal job of showcasing the university, the athletic programs, and what it truly means to be a Falcon.

Coach Joshua Johnson was the main reason I chose to attend Friends.

He helped me get involved in so many different things on campus, and that's something I really appreciated about being a student here.

Moving on to a new role

I was also a student-athlete on the Friends University competitive cheerleading team, and now, I'm excited to be working as a media assistant and video content creator for the Friends University athletic department.

As someone who was a four-year athlete, I know how nice it is to be showcased, and for your team to be showcased as a whole.

It's such an amazing opportunity to be a part of that, and it's something I'm really excited to do going forward.

Doing what I love

What I'm most looking forward to in this new role is getting the chance to showcase specific student-athletes and talk about all the things that make them unique and special in our community.

I'm also really excited to get to work with each team individually and learn more about them.

In this new role, my main goal is to show how unique Friends University is and how our student-athletes love our community and love being a part of all aspects of our community.

Not just on the court or field, but in the classroom and on campus in general.

Being a Falcon here at Friends is so much more than athletic competition, and I hope I can showcase that.

Making an impact

One of the best things about Friends is that there are so many people here who have made an impact in my life.

One of those people is Nichole Wynn, who, along with her husband Tor Wynn, is our Faculty Athletics Representative as well as Associate Professor of Accounting on campus.

Nichole is someone who has taught me that you can be fun and get along with everybody and still be taken very seriously and respected.

And that's something I will always be grateful for.

Looking ahead

I truly can't wait to get started in this new role and show the world that Friends University is not only a great community, but an amazing family as well.
