WICHITA, Kan. – The KCAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week have a distinct Friends University flavor, with Tiyna Ridge winning the track honor and Aaliyah Ramirez capturing the field nod, the conference office announced today (Apr. 6) All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Athletic Solutions.
Ridge hit two more NAIA qualifying marks this past week at the home Friends Spring Invite, highlighted by a school record and NAIA A Standard in the Women's 200 Meter event. Her time of 23.75 is a KCAC and school record while ranking as the third-best time in the NAIA this season.
The Edmond, Okla. native also anchored the Falcons in the 4 X 100 relay for a time of 47.24 that hit the NAIA B standard and ranks third in the KCAC and 16th in the NAIA this season.
Ramirez hit the NAIA A Standard in the Women's Pole Vault at the Friends Spring Invite with a mark of 3.78m that is a PR and both a school and KCAC record.
The Rockwall Texas native's jump is fifth best in the NAIA this season.
The Track & Field Falcons will next compete at the Tabor College Invitational on Saturday (Apr. 11) in Hillsboro, Kan.
