Fayetteville, Ark. -- Friends University standouts
Tiyna Ridge and
Fien Molenberg made an emphatic closing statement ahead of next week's KCAC Championships Friday (Apr. 24) at the John McDonnell Invite at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.
Having already ran the second-fastest NAIA Women's 100 meter time ever in Arkansas two weeks ago, Ridge was back in the Natural State and nearly bested that with an event winning time of 11.28 that again beat out multiple NCAA D-I and D-II competitors. The Edmond, Okla. native now owns the second and third best times in the NAIA this season in the 100 meter run.
Molenberg delivered a strong performance in the women's 800 meters, finishing sixth with a PR time of 2:10.64 that hit the NAIA A Standard and also placed her ahead of multiple NCAA D-I and D-II runners. Molenberg's time is tops in the KCAC and eighth in the NAIA this season.
Ridge, Molenberg and the Falcon Track & Field teams will now turn their attention to the KCAC Championship starting Thursday (Apr. 30) and running through Friday (May 1) at home in Wichita at Adair-Austin Stadium.
