WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University junior left-handed pitcher Raleigh Clark has been selected as the KCAC Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced today (Feb. 23). All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Athletic Solutions.
Clark was dominant in the Falcons' 7-0 series opening victory over the York University Panthers on Saturday (Feb. 20), striking out a career-high 12 batters and walking just one over seven scoreless innings.
A native of Andrews, Texas, Clark now has 20 strikeouts against only eight walks with a 5.12 ERA across 19.2 innings this season. Batters are hitting just .179 against Clark this season.
Clark and the Falcons are back to .500 at 7-7 following this past weekend's series sweep over York and will next play at No. 19-ranked Mid-America Christian University tomorrow (Feb. 24) in Oklahoma City before hosting a four-game weekend series vs. Hastings College starting Friday (Feb. 27).
