Wichita, Kan. - Friends baseball would go for the series sweep over York on Sunday (Feb. 22). This matchup was important for the Falcons to get back to a .500 win percentage on the season. The Falcons were able to complete the sweep winning 7-5 this afternoon.
Friends struck first in this contest scoring two runs in the 1st and 3rd inning. RBI's from Bernie Socarras and Miles Hartman gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead. York would tie it up in the bottom of the 4th.
Drew Lykes broke the tie by hitting his first home run of the season bringing it 3-2 Falcons. York didn't go down without a fight, the Panthers bats brought them in front in the bottom of the 6th.
The late inning offense for the Falcons jolted them in front of York once again. Camden Miller would hit a 2 RBI double to put the Falcons on top 7-5 in the 8th inning. The Falcons would bring in Preston Lewis for a similar save situation that he had yesterday. Lewis would complete the save grabbing his 2nd of the year.Â
Friends baseball (7-7) KCAC (3-3) is back to .500 and will look to avenge an early season loss against Mid-American Christian University on Tuesday (Feb. 24). The game will be in Oklahoma City at 3:00 PM.
