KANSAS – For the second straight week, freshman Joaquin Miranda is the KCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference office announced today (Oct. 26). All KCAC Player of the Week awards are sponsored by Athletic Solutions.
After running a PR at last week's JBU Invitational, Miranda bettered that with another PR of 25:19 to finish as the top KCAC runner and a solid ninth overall out of 412 runners as the Falcons posted a Top 15 team finish at Saturday's (Oct. 24) Blazing Tiger Invite in Ashland, Neb.
"Joaquin had a very impressive run on Saturday," said Friends cross country head coach Tracy Jex. "He certainly has put himself out there as one of the best runners in the conference. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do in two weeks at the conference meet."
Both Falcon cross country programs are now gearing up for the KCAC Championship in two weeks (Nov. 7) at Allison Sports Town in Springfield, Mo.
