Leavenworth, Kan. – Friends University freshman Lexi Patterson finished 19th at today's (Nov. 8) KCAC Championship in Leavenworth, Kan. to qualify for the NAIA National Championship meet.
Under first-year head coach Tracy Jex, Patterson ran a PR of 24:09.31 to help the Falcon Women finish sixth, while the Men's Falcons also came in sixth overall.
Kansas Wesleyan University finished first in the women's event and the University of Saint Mary came out on top in the men's race.
Hannah Cribley (25:51.05) was the next Falcon in 42nd place, while Rebekah Choriego (26:01.95) and Janaya Devorce (26:09.16) were 44th and 45th respectively.
Hailey Roberson (26:36.73) came in 48th to wind up the Falcons' top five runners.
On the men's side, Briac Ybanez (26:33.80 was the top finishing Falcon in 28th, followed by Sam Wright (26:42.32) in 31st.
Xavi Rafart (27:19.36) recorded a 43rd place finish and Alex Zortman (28:14.86) finished 60th. Mike Rodriguez-Quintana (29:27.31) then finished 76th to wrap up the Falcons' top five runners.
Patterson will now prepare to run in the NAIA National Championship on Nov. 21 in Tallahassee, Fla.
