WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University freshman Benedict Holthaus has been selected as the KCAC Men's Wrestling Co-Newcomer of the Year (Ernest Grant, York University), as announced today (May 29) by the conference office.
Holthaus claimed the 174 pound KCAC conference championship this season to earn a berth to the NAIA National Championship, where he went 1-2 that included an upset victory over No. 13-seeded Tyson Stover of Corban University.
A native of Nephi, Utah, Holthaus posted an overall record of 30-9 in the 2024-25 campaign and won 12 of 13 dual matches. His victory total included 12 wins by fall and 12 more wins via technical fall.
