Men's Wrestling Preview: 8 Falcons will take the stage at NAIA Nationals on Thursday (Mar. 5)

Park City, Kan. - Friends men's wrestling looks forward to the NAIA national tournament in Park City starting tomorrow morning (Mar. 5). Friends had a school record eight national qualifiers and will look to conclude the season on a high note with wrestlers battling it out to become all-Americans. Wrestling will be at Heartland Credit Union Arena.

Qualifiers for men's wrestling: 

Braydon Pacheco is a true freshman this year for the Falcons from Garden City, Kansas. Pacheco in his first season wrestled at both 125 and 133 lb classes. He had a 28-8 record and had bonus points in 82% of his matches this year. 

Braden Ledford, who started the year injured, ended up getting a bid to nationals in his senior year. From Winfield, Kansas, Ledford put up a 10-10 record also bouncing around from 125 and 133 lb weight classes.

Wyatt Gardner from Leoti, Kan wrestled at the 141 lb weight class this year. Gardner qualified by taking 1st place in the KCAC conference tournament. Gardner had a 7-1 record on the season.

Brady Duling, the freshman from here in Wichita, earned his ticket to nationals by winning the KCAC tournament. Duling posted a 26-17 record and the Bishop Carroll alum looks to add to his resume this weekend.

Cayleb Atkins from Goddard, Kansas put up a 19-5 record in his regular season. He also has the highest bonus point percentage on the team with 89%. Atkins will wrestle at the 157 lb weight class.

Benedict Holthaus is in his second year here at Friends and put up a record of 20-6. Holthaus placed 1st at the KCAC tournament and the Nephi, Utah native looks to bring home hardware in the 174 lb weight class. 

Jason Bowers from Paw Paw, Michigan put up a record of 25-13. The senior won his 184 lb bracket in the KCAC tournament which gave him a bid into the tournament.

Logan Davidson who is the 197 lb wrestler for Friends put up a 26-7 record. Davidson, who is also a Wichita native will look to conclude his junior year with an all-American finish.

Eight well deserving Falcons will take the mat Thursday morning (Mar. 5) in Park City. Follow the action on Flo Wrestling online to cheer on your wrestling Falcons!
