Manheim, Pa. – The Friends University men's wrestling program put together its finest season in school history in the 2024-25 season, but its success wasn't limited to the mat, as the Falcons have earned a 2025 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NAIA Men's Team Scholar award, the organization has announced.
The Falcons recorded the sixth highest team GPA in the NAIA at 3.4725.
"This is a tremendous accomplishment for our team," said Friends men's wrestling head coach Tyler Mies. "They've come so far, and it's inspiring to see them applying the Champion Mentality not just on the mat, but in every area of their lives. As we continue to build those habits, this will be an exciting team to watch in the years ahead as we make the climb to the top."
Under Mies, the Falcons finished a program-best 27th as a team at the recent NAIA National Championship in Park City, Kan., highlighted by Braden Morgan earning the first NAIA All-American honor in team history. Ezavian Ortega and Benedict Holthaus also won a match at the event.
