TOPEKA, Kan. - The Friends University Falcons went on the road Tuesday night for an exhibition against one of the top NCAA Division II programs, taking on the No. 2 Washburn Ichabods and falling 105–51. Despite the challenging matchup, several Falcons produced solid moments throughout the contest.
Friends were led by Ringo Deng, who finished with 7 points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting performance, including a three-pointer, while adding 4 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, and a block. Al Emerllahu also scored 7 points on efficient shooting, knocking down a three and going 2-for-2 at the line. Jackson Swartz matched the team-high with 7 points and collected 5 rebounds off the bench. Collin Maclin added 6 points and 4 rebounds, connecting from beyond the arc, while Randy Woolf, Jr. contributed 6 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and a block.
Friends battled on the glass, finishing with 15 offensive rebounds and 22 bench points as the team continued to compete throughout the night. The exhibition provided a high-level early-season test as the Falcons turn their attention back to KCAC play.
The Falcons return to the Garvey Center next Wednesday (Dec. 3) to host the Bethel College Threshers, with tipoff scheduled for 8:00 PM.
