No. 10 Men’s Golf Falcons cruise to Evangel Fall Invitational championship

Joplin, Mo. – The No. 10-ranked Friends University Falcons routed the field in winning the Evangel Fall Invitational today (Oct. 7) at the Twin Hills Country Club in Joplin, Mo.

The Falcons finished -6 as a team, well ahead of second-place Evangel University's +41.

Predictably, the Falcons dominated the individual standings with all five golfers placing in the top six, including Jack Cubitt finishing tied for third as an individual.

Bernhard Koster led the way for Friends, finishing on top of the field with a solid -4 score.

"Bern has a chance to win any tournament he is in," said Friends men's golf head coach Dustin Galyon. "His attitude and work ethic is awesome. He played two really great rounds and continues to impress."

Trinton Nobles, the two-time KCAC Men's Golfer of the Year, came in second at -2 in his first event of the fall campaign.

Gabriele Romani (+2) was fifth, with Laken Matthews and Jenson Boyce tying for sixth at +3.

The Falcons will host the Falcon Cup next week (Oct. 13-14) at the Auburn Hills Golf Course in Wichita.

"We took another step forward this tournament," said Galyon. "We played two solid rounds of golf the first day and learned some things about course management and focus on the third day."
