Sterling, Kan. -- Due to weather conditions appearing on Saturday (Apr. 6), Falcons Tennis rescheduled the competition and matched against Sterling on April 8. Women's Falcon tennis faced a tough lose to the Warriors 5-1, while the Men's Tennis Falcons fell 5-1.
The men's Tennis Falcons welcomed Bruno Suiama back, who formed a powerful duo with Auron Hoyer. The pair won #1 doubles 6-2 against the Warriors' D. Garces and A. Gaboardi. Auron Hoyer, competing as #3 singles, has proven to be a valuable asset to the Falcon lineup, winning the Falcon point against L. Boisdenghien in the third set (4-6, 6-3, 6-4).
Silva Avakian, a consecutive KCAC player of the Week performer , has continued her remarkable season as a #1 single. Competing against S. Tominaga (Sterling), Avakian never lost stride, winning in two sets (6-2, 6-4).
Both teams will be back in action April 18th (Thurs.) in a home match against Tabor College. The matches are held at Wichita Riverside Tennis Center (3 pm).
