Lindsborg, Kan.-- Falcon Tennis split in a tough matchup against Bethany College on Saturday (Apr. 20). On the road, both teams battled to the finish; Men's Falcons were victorious against the Swedes, 4-3, and Women's Falcons couldn't grasp enough momentum falling 4-3.
 
The Men's Tennis Falcons kept their stride from the previous win over Tabor and won enough matches to prevail over the Swedes. Connor Fitzsimmons and Nathan Harris, competing as #4 singles and #5 singles respectively, both had shut-out sets, allowing Bethany to earn no points in either matchup (6-0, 6-0). 
 
Despite the Women's Falcon loss, Silva Avakian has made history at Friends University, being one of the first tennis athletes to finish the season undefeated. Avakian has earned three KCAC Player of the Week awards on the season and won every match as a #1 single with ease. Against the Swedes, Silva Avakian breezed past A. Castillo (Bethany), winning in two short-lived sets (6-0, 6-1). Jazzmyn Williams, another notable Falcon against Bethany, competed as a #1 double with Avakian and #3 singles, winning in both matches by wide margins. 

Women's Falcon Tennis finished the season 5-5 in the KCAC and 6-7 overall. Men's Falcon Tennis finished the season 4-6 in the KCAC and 4-9 overall. Both teams await results to determine status in the KCAC tournament on April 25th.
