WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Men's Tennis Falcons swept past the University of Saint Mary Spires 7-0, while the Falcon Women came up just short 4-3 at the Riverside Tennis Center yesterday (Mar. 21) in Wichita.
In doubles, the teams of Bruno Suiama/Enric Galan and Aidan Marshall/Nathan Harris each won 6-2 to secure the doubles point.
Suiama also won 6-4, 0-6, 6-1 in the #1 singles position, while Auron Hoyer (#2), Galan (#3), Marshall (#4), Connor Fitzsimmons (#5) and Harris (#6) were also victorious in singles action to help the Falcons post the shutout.
For the women, Silva Avakian remained undefeated in KCAC action despite battling an illness with a 6-0, 6-7, 7-5 win in the No. 1 singles spot.
Jazzmyn Williams and Molly Bender also won their singles bouts, while Bender and Victoria Oshakuade won their doubles bout 6-3.
The Falcons will next be at Kansas Wesleyan University Saturday (Mar. 23) at 10 am in Salina, Kan.
