Park City, Kan. – The Friends University Men's and Women's Wrestling Falcons are set open the 2024-25 season with their annual Falcon Open, starting with the women's competition tomorrow (Nov. 1) and the men's event on Saturday (Nov. 2) at Park City Arena in Park City, Kan.
As announced in early September, the Mike Church "Win the Day' Memorial youth wrestling tournament will also be held tomorrow. The youth wrestling tourney is for ages six through high school.
Both Falcon wrestling squads are receiving votes in the NAIA Preseason Coaches' Top 25 poll and each return NAIA national qualifiers for this season. Gianna Moreno was the first-ever NAIA All-America performer last year for the Falcon Women, while Gunnar Henderson became the first men's national qualifier in program history. 2022-23 national qualifier Bailee Nelson is also back on the women's side for the 2024-25 campaign.
