WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Falcons came up on the short of a 30-9 dual vs. Oklahoma Wesleyan University in their 2023-24 home opener tonight (Nov. 30) inside the Garvey Center.
Despite the final result, the Falcons were close in multiple individual bouts, as Roberto Camacho (9-10), Austin Zaring (4-5) and Jacob Knowles (12-13) each lost by a one-point decision.
Ezavian Ortega turned the tables and picked up a 10-9 win for the Falcons, while Jason Bowers (8-2) and Solomon Arrington (7-3) helped Friends finish the night out strong.
The Falcons will next compete at the Doane Open on Saturday (Dec. 2) starting at 9 am in Crete, Neb. before returning home to face Bethany College in another conference dual next Wednesday (Dec. 6) at 7 pm.
